Makenna the Future Attorney?

Never a dull moment in our house---I tell ya! Well last night at about 10:30 p.m. Makenna comes into our bedroom with a list (not sure what it is with the lists in this house?!?) but it was a list of reasons why she should get a mini laptop. Before I tell you what her list consists of, my daughter was completely serious about this! This list was directed towards Shawn---apparently she is unaware I wear the pants in this family and say what goes...LOL

Here they are: (exactly as written)

1.
It's for school for papers. I'm almost in middle school and Justin got his own computer when he was in 6th grade, so why can't I get a laptop?

2. Plus on top of that, I would pay for it, so it wouldn't cost you or Mom a penny.

3. It would also be for my business for ordering things we need in order to keep our business going, such as flyers and making our own website.
( she is using the cricut for a greeting card business---more to come on that)

4. Don't you get tired of Mom going on your laptop, well Mom and I can share this laptop.

Then there was an arrow on the paper-----> apparently there's more on the back....

5. And when Mom goes back to school, she can use it.

6. Also...Colby puts too many viruses on the loft computer and it sometimes freezes, sometimes for one whole week!!!

7. Justin doesn't ever let me go on his computer!!!

MY FAV. ONE!!!!----->8. Even in 5th grade, I'm into work up to my head. With projects here and there, it would be easier for all of us to have our own.

9. Plus Daddy, when you are doing spreadsheets and Justin has a paper to write and I have a paper to write, how am I going to do my paper?

10. Another good reason is just that I am getting older and more responsible and I am growing into a smart young woman!

*** Well there you have it folks...10 good reasons why she should get a mini laptop. She never mentioned this at Christmas?!? That's right , maybe because there wasn't any room on her Christmas List because she had UGGs and an iTouch on her list...and a whole new wardrobe from Justice...Damn...seriously...

She then proceeded to show me on her iTouch (you actually felt sorry for her didn't you?!?---LOL) , the one she picked out from Target.
I busted out laughing....she shot me a dirty look...she was not amused...she is completely serious about this!

Apparently the 3 computers we have in the house are not enough...damn I never even had one til I moved out of my parents house. Gheesh...what's a girl to do, huh? What happened to the days of atari and paperdolls?!?

She told me that she would save her money, but honestly...she is already halfway there...so I was thinking about matching half? What do you think? She does work hard and she is a great student...and busts her butt to help me around the house. After she left our room---leaving the list in plain sight...Shawn and I were actually saying that we were proud of her for making her case and that it may be helpful to have an attorney in the family haha! Stay Tuned.......

  1. LOL! thats great! haha! After such a strong argument.. the girl deserves her mini laptop hahaha! Chloe is dying for her own.. her and Jacob share Jacobs for the internet. She has her own for schoolwork but its ancient and a pain in the butt. She has made similar arguments for wanting her own laptop lol.. apparently her Itouch isnt enough either haha. Although she wasnt as convincing as Makenna haha
    anyway I vote for Makenna!
